Good hires should always have an AND — great technical skills AND great communicator and if the second part is their weakness it requires much more during their preparation and if they aren’t working with a coach when applying to places like Google etc they are selling themselves short. People skills are not soft skills — they are “the” skills especially as every Tom Dick and Sally can code. Attitude is everything — and it can be learned.
