Hey man — sorry for the late reply. Pregnant wife and young son. I blame them;). I have loads of advice on how to go about working abroad. I used to flip houses in Costa Rica a decade ago and had a consulting service for expats looking to buy real estate there and also started over again in Spain and for 2 years I was “illegal here — no EU working papers” and found loads of cash jobs to service until I got legal. I recommend either teaching English or taking a Masters program — universities are super cheap in Spain and with a student Visa you are allowed to work for 20 hours a week and travel without the fear of over staying your 90 travel VISA. I could go on for hours about this, for the last 6 years I gave a monthly seminar for new arrivals in Barcelona from US, UK Australia etc on how to find work. Would be happy to talk to you when you get close to pulling the trigger. Take care and hit me up if you have any specific questions.
